Queen Annie
Sweet Annie is our boss, or 'Queen' if she pleases at Canberra Cat Vet. Annie has been with us since May 2015 after coming to see us with a broken leg as a tiny kitten. She was later found stranded on the side of the road. Dr. Kate couldn't resist her sweet, sassy charm and adopted her as our very own clinic cat.
Annie adoresssss food (a little too much), nothing will deter her from executing impossible missions of food thievery.
You will find her most often welcoming our clients and soaking up the sun in our waiting room.

Dr Thea Chan
In 2020, Thea completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in Sydney.
We are very lucky to have her with us three days a week, and she is very excited about the opportunity to pursue all things Feline Medicine.
Thea is CRAZY about cats. Dora and Swiper (Black and Orange DSH) have very kindly given Thea permission to live in their house. Thea has catered to their every need and want since they were 2 weeks old. You may have actually seen Dora out and about town! Thea takes Dora out with her as much as possible (as long as the place is cat friendly).
When Thea is not cuddling a cat you will find her purchasing an array of kitty CAT-ure for Dora, Pixie & Swiper.

Dr Alice Kermond
Alice is an animal lover with a passion for cats, and like a cat, Alice is gentle, patient, welcoming and soft spoken.
Alice graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 2018, before moving to Canberra to start her career in small animal practice. She is currently undertaking a 2 year post-graduate course with a goal of completing her Feline Memberships with the ANZCVS. She loves delving into all things medical and imaging.

When she is not cuddling a furry four legged friend she enjoys playing netball, hiking and painting.

Dr Maggie Ma
Maggie (Runqi) grew up in China and moved to Australia to study Veterinary Medicine at
the University of Sydney. Influenced by her mum and an early interest in medicine, her passion for feline
care began during volunteer work at the China Southern Agricultural University Veterinary Teaching
Hospital, where she met her first cat, Mei Mei.
Her final-year rotation at Canberra Cat Vet confirmed her love for feline-only practice. Maggie enjoys disease investigation and emergency case management, with a growing interest in internal medicine. Maggie is fluent in Mandarin; we are so excited to welcome her to our team in February 2026!
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, badminton, café hopping, and relaxing on weekends. Her feline soft spot is for domestic medium-hairs with big personalities.

Dr Kay Weller
Kay started working in the industry a week before she graduated, and has been working in small animal practice ever since.
She fulfilled a career goal by passing her Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists membership exams in feline medicine.
She is delighted to be working as a locum Veterinarian with our CCV team, and very much enjoys meeting all of our purry and fluffy patients.
At home she enjoys reading, knitting and yoga.

Dr Collette Berryman
Director
Collette has always loved cats and is thrilled to focus on all things feline at Canberra Cat Vet.
After graduating in 2011, she initially worked in rural mixed practice before moving to small animal practice in Melbourne.

Dr John Yang
Director
John is crazy about cats and has gained his membership in cat medicine chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists after studying at a high level. He moved up from the South Coast and left his favourite hobbies of snorkeling and scuba diving to indulge his love of cats.
After having been a part of CCV for years, Dr. John joined our team of Directors in September 2023.
John is fluent in Mandarin, enjoys playing badminton, reading and exploring the vastness of the interwebs. If you have a Scottish short hair, make sure you visit John because he adores them!

Dr Georgia Knudsen
Director
Dr Georgia combines deep clinical expertise with a warm, team-focused approach to feline care. After completing a degree in economics, she followed her passion for animals and graduated with first-class honours in Veterinary Science from Sydney University in 2004. She joined CCV in 2016 and became a co-owner in 2019, where she fosters a supportive, collaborative clinic culture dedicated to excellent GP care for cats and their carers.
Her professional interests include feline medicine, behaviour, feline infectious disease management, and the psychology of veterinary teams. She is committed to evidence-based practice and compassionate communication that helps carers make informed decisions for their pets.
Outside the clinic, Dr Georgia balances family life with a son, partner, and two rescue cats, and recharges by skiing, reading, speed puzzling, and catching up with friends and extended family.

Dr Eloise Bright

After working in various small animal practices in Sydney, Darwin and Canberra. Eloise has spent 3 years enjoying the unique challenges of the world of shelter medicine at the RSPCA.\She was very excited to be asked to join the team at Canberra Cat Vet primarily to assist with behaviour consultations.
Eloise graduated with first-class honours from Sydney University in 2006 and gained behaviour memberships in 2022 with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
In March 2019 she started ACT Pet Crisis Support, a charity that helps low-income pet owners with their vet bills, which keeps her pretty busy.

Leanne
Practice Manager
Originally starting at Canberra Cat Vet in 2013, Leanne was our head nurse for five years, and has since returned as our amazing Practice Manager. During her time away, Leanne gained experience in all things Emergency, teaching and non-feline. She is ecstatic to be back with the CCV team, with a desire to continue to help us blossom.
With over 20 years of experience in the animal industry, Leanne has worked as an Animal Attendant, Veterinary Nurse and Teacher. With accompanying study in a Diploma of Applied Science (in Animal Technology), Advanced Certificate in Veterinary Nursing and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Senior Nurse Administrator
Cassie started her career in veterinary nursing at Canberra Cat Vet in 2014, completing her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing in 2015. Cassie keeps a watchful eye over the clinic's stock and equipment. Cassie is kind, patient and caring of all kitties in her care, even the scared ones.
Euro (nickname: Houdini) was brought into the clinic when she was a little kitten just before Christmas 2016 after a short stint in the wild and has made herself completely at home.
Cassie volunteers with Pets in the Park and occasionally at Pegasus riding school for the disabled. In her spare time she enjoys board games, puzzles and going for walks. She has her black belt in Taekwondo and she has recently taken up swing dancing.

Daria's passion for all creatures, especially cats, has always been a constant; she continues to build upon this love with wildlife and agricultural animal activism along with her work at CCV. Daria has been with Canberra Cat Vet since she first started her journey as a trainee nurse and is now flying high as a qualified nurse in the veterinary world.
She has a big soft spot for Siamese and Orientals, having grown up with them during her childhood, and black cats, which led to her adoption of Tyson and Delilah.
In scrubs she enjoys taking the time to understand and work with all of our patients (even the stroppiest of felines); spending extra time providing care to inpatients; and assisting the vets in running the day. Daria enjoys drawing, crafting, cafes and game nights when she is out of scrubs.

Reception Coordinator
Chloe came from a dog-loving, cat-allergic household but was determined to live her life as a cat admirer. She rescued a domestic medium-hair tabby boy named ''Slobberchops'' and proceeded to go further down the rabbit hole of all things cats by joining our customer service team in December 2023.
In her spare time, she enjoys drawing and reading, as well as various nerdy hobbies, such as playing PC games and Dungeons and Dragons.

Kat
Senior Reception
Kathleen always thought she was a dog person…until she rescued her first cat Lilo, and realised she was a total cat person. Kat is originally from the sunny & artsy city of San Francisco, California; which also describes Kat perfectly. She moved to Australia in 2013; and lives in Canberra with her partner, her daughter Grace, and her two kitty cats Lilo & Goose.
Her newfound love has become a career. She enjoys working with the wonderful, kind and caring team at the Canberra Cat Vet. Kat looks forward to meeting you and your furry companions at the reception desk!

Marnie
Reception
Marnie is studying International Security Studies at ANU and sadly is unable to have her own feline companion therefore, she was drawn to CCV because she feels cats are the greatest, and now she gets to be around them all day! Marnie grew up in a dog-only household but was drawn to cats, having grown close to her best friend's 3 cats.
She is a Canberran local, and her goals are to become a diplomat and adopt a cat! Marnie spends her downtime playing video games, like Stardew Valley, spending time with her boyfriend, and going out with friends.

Isabel shares our passion and love for cats; it all began from a young age, like most of us feline lovers. Isabel is currently pursuing a bachelor's in social science while supporting us in all things front-of-house.

Sophia dreamed of becoming a veterinary nurse as a child, and now her dream is coming true. She completed her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing at CIT and began as a clinic assistant, working her way up to a fully fledged senior nurse with skills in surgery, consult and medicine.
Her experience at Canberra Cat Vet has helped her become an even more empathetic and caring nurse; Sophia's patients feel at ease with her gentle, thorough and kind manner.
She loves all animals, but her faves are cows, cheetahs, and, of course, cats. Soph loves to spend quality time with her three DSH cats, Queenie, Shirley, and Freya, cuddling up on the couch. Outside of all things cat, Sophia enjoys the zoo, hanging with her family and watching movies with friends.

Janine has worked in the veterinary industry for 21 years in three different countries – New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Australia. At Canberra Cat Vet, she has found her happy place working with cats and a caring team. Janine does an amazing job keeping our clients' fur babies happy, healthy, and well cared for. You can often find her giving our inpatients a brush, chin scratches, treats, ambient music, and a cosy bed to ensure they are as comfortable as possible.
As one of our dedicated consult nurses and leader of the 'Curvy Cats Anonymous' clinic, Janine is always helping to keep kitties within a healthy weight range.
She misses her sweet, zesty DSH ginger, 'Clarry', greatly, but her puppy Chester keeps her family loved and occupied. Her pastimes include family time, fitness, online shopping, and a good glass of wine at sunset.

Senior Nurse
Courtney started with us as a trainee nurse and receptionist while she was studying at CIT; she has since completed her studies in early 2025.
Courtney is truly drawn to felines, even with the other types of animals she has encountered along her animal journey and while working at Hall Veterinary Clinic. Courtney's first kitty, Babygirl, a sweet, vocal Russian Blue rescue, is no longer an only furchild; her siblings, white & black DSH Kilhua and all-white DSH Martha Mae Hoovier, keep Courtney's home full of zesty, cheeky energy.
Her passion lies in rescue, rehabilitation, and team training, and she has a deep ambition to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible and is grateful to be with a skilled, positive, and supportive team.
Her leisure time is filled with hiking, gym sessions, anime and quality moments with her partner.

Erin joined us in late 2023 after having a short break between veterinary work. Erin has completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Studies and is looking forward to learning more about fascinating surgeries, stressful situations and tricky kitties.
Erin loves cats, dogs and echidnas; her gorgeous chocolate Burmese, Caspar, was much adored during his life and is sorely missed. Erin loves enriching her two King Charles Cavalier spaniels, handsome River and cheeky Riley, on the weekends – they often have walks, meet-and-greets with other cavies and trips to the coast. Recently, 'Gracie', the beautiful blue Burmese who was once a mother and taken in by Canberra Street Cat Alliance, was adopted by Erin.
When unoccupied by her puppies and work, Erin likes to read, drive, colour, study accounting and hang out with friends.

Sophia, 'Finchy'
Veterinary Nurse
Sophia, also known as ‘Finchy’, developed her love for animals at the age of 8 when she adopted her first two rabbits, Flopsy and Sox. Finchy grew up alongside Flopsy and Sox and has taken fantastic care of them. Sadly, Sox recently passed away, leaving his friend Raymond as an only child at the ripe old age of 12. Sox has joined Flopsy and their 5 children – Oreo, Nibbles, Heli, Ninja, and Angel – on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. After some much-needed time, Raymond and Finchy welcome Lunar as their new bunny companion.

Charlotte finds creatures big, small and everything in between enticing. However, cats have always been her number one, especially squeaky Burmese and vocal Siamese. Being a big animal lover has led her to study at CIT and join CCV with the aim of becoming a veterinary nurse.
In her spare time, Charlotte spends time with her beautiful chocolate Burmese, Baby; her cheeky bulldog, Lola; her other puppies, George and Ella; a guinea pig; and a rainbow lorikeet. On the weekends, she also volunteers at the RSPCA so she can spend as much time as possible with all of the beautiful and wonderful animals.

Erica has always had a love for all animals, especially after growing up with 3 cats (Mr Happy, Toothless, and Cosmo) and 2 dogs (Benjamin and Ripley), along with several other exotic pets, from mice and guinea pigs all the way to frogs and a very friendly jungle python named Jorge.
Erica has recently begun her journey into the veterinary field after completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and working at the Unusual Pet Vet. She began with Canberra Cat Vet in late 2024 and now enjoys the constant learning that comes with providing the best possible care for feline patients.
Erica adores Domestic Shorthairs and owns a black and white tuxedo named Toothless; Erica was born and raised in Canberra but will always feel Fremantle is her true home. Erica is passionate about medicine, animal welfare, husbandry, and enrichment. She enjoys building reptile enclosures and enrichment for her various beloved pets at home.

Emma is currently on maternity leave. Emma loves animals small and large but has a special connection with cats, especially tabbies and Bengals. Emma studied veterinary nursing so she could spend more time with cats.
In her spare time Emma loves watching anime, and on the flip side, being outdoors on skiing, camping, and swimming adventures.

Jessica
Locum Senior Nurse
Jessica is a qualified veterinary nurse with a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and more than five years of experience. She began her career straight after school, knowing that caring for animals was exactly what she wanted to do. She has developed a strong passion in anaesthetics and critical care nursing, finding it especially rewarding to provide patients with the highest standard of care.
Jessica has a soft spot for Maine Coons and black cats. At home, she shares her life with Luna, a domestic short hair she first fostered at just four weeks old and couldn’t bear to give up. When she’s not at work, Jessica enjoys staying active at the gym, colouring, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Sarah
Clinic Assistant
After spending time with her friends' cats, despite living with dogs her whole life, Sarah adopted her first cat in December 2021. Since falling in love with her beautiful seal point Ragdoll, Remus, she has since converted to cats.
Sarah's adoration of Remus inspired her desire to work at a cat-only vet clinic where she could spend time in close proximity with other cats. Sarah has also recently adopted a tortie Birman girl, Dawn, who was once a breeding cat.
In Sarah's spare time she enjoys reading, writing, thrifting, listening to music, and serving fashionable looks.

Liz is a nurse assistant who loves helping around the clinic to ensure our vets and nurses have everything they need to take care of their furry patients. Liz is an incredibly dedicated member of our team, and we would be lost without her.

Andy grew up surrounded by animals—cats, fish, mice, huntsman spiders, giant snails, and more—and animal lovers like none other than his mum, Dr Georgia.
Andy is currently completing his last two years of senior school and is passionate about engineering, music, and psychology. Andy started officially working with CCV in 2023; however, he has been helping out with washing on the weekends for years. Andy adores medium-haired tabbies, like the beautiful Nutmeg, aka Nutty.
He is passionate about providing the best quality of life possible for our patients and enjoys skiing and producing music when at home. He's one of our go-to techy team members and collaborates on projects like CCV's YouTube channel.
