The ACT government has proposed that we should confine all cats indoors. This will decrease predation of wildlife by owned cats, but not feral or stray cats.

While indoor confinement keeps cats safe from dogs, cars and fights with other cats, it increases their stress and anxiety levels.

The onus is on us to provide mental stimulation and opportunities for our cats to play, hide, and hunt in safety.

Ash has found the perfect solution. His clever carer has built this enclosure for him in the backyard. Natural climbing and scratching surfaces alternate with purpose built shelves and poles to provide lots of fun. The whole area is enclosed in cat-proof, cat-safe netting.

If you aren’t a handyperson then several companies in Canberra can build something to suit you and your cat.
